TVHS is a Scent Free School

PARENTS OF FRESHMEN

Starting high school is a big step for students and their parents. Parents of incoming 9th graders are encouraged to attend an orientation night that will be held on Thursday, August 26, from 7 to 8 pm, in the TVHS library. It is an opportunity to meet the 9th grade core teachers who will cover what to expect in a typical school schedule, strategies for academic success, and how to optimize communication between home and school. Some reference material will be provided as well as a chance to ask questions that may be weighing on your mind. Refreshments will be served. For more information, please call the high school at 464-5255.

Also, if you have not yet heard, we are going to have special Freshmen-only opening day on Monday, August 30. Opening day will be a Freshman Orientation Day so only members of the Class of 2014 will be attending. (The first day for seniors, juniors and sophomores will be Tuesday, August 31.) The goal of the Freshman Orientation Day is to give the new students solid understanding of their classes as well as opportunities for learning support and extracurricular activities. Students will meet their teachers, advisors, staff members and classmates and learn about the TVHS structure, rules and expectations. School buses will be running at their regular times and school begins at 8:00 AM.
